Forum Herbulot

Forum Herbulot is a research initiative, founded in the year 2000. We are now over 160 members (Herbulotians) from 42 countries, renowned experts in Lepidopterology with a main focus on the superfamily Geometroidea (the second-largest superfamily in order Lepidoptera). We named our initiative after French lepidopterist Claude Herbulot, who assembled the world's largest collection of geometrid moths (now deposited at the Bavarian State Collection in Munich, Germany).

The main mission of our initiative is to coordinate and foster the research activities of the global community of geometridologists through online databases, information exchange, and scientific congresses. The success of Forum Herbulot has led to a large number of fruitful collaborations, making Geometroidea one of the most-used model groups of Lepidoptera.
